Background and Fitness Philosophy

Derrick Morris founded MSS Fitness, LLC in 2017. MSS stands for Mobility, Stability, and Strength, the three components that Derrick considers most important in fitness training. These three components work together to help you not only become a better athlete but improve and enhance your everyday life.

Derrick’s background includes four years as a college athlete (baseball) and a one-on-one youth coaching internship that sparked a passion for personal training. These experiences led to a degree in exercise science and a career dedicated to helping people improve their physical and mental health.

With Derrick as your trainer you’ll work smarter, not harder! Derrick takes time to talk to his clients about how to make lifestyle changes outside of the gym – including nutrition education and guidance. His clients describe him as patient, motivating, and supportive.

Throughout his years as a personal trainer, Derrick has helped countless clients lose weight, gain strength, and feel better about themselves. Some of his memorable experiences include helping a client lose 100 pounds, training a client to become a firefighter, and helping a college athlete rehab from injury.

In his downtime Derrick enjoys playing basketball, binging shows on Netflix, and spending time with his nephews and niece.

Derrick trains all levels of clients in the Raleigh/Cary area – novices, college level athletes, seniors, weekend warriors, and all of those in-between. He looks forward to helping you with any fitness goal you aspire to achieve.
